- How it works
- Publicly accessible page data is retrieved through a TLS client — optionally via a configured rotating proxy — then matched against PluginView's proprietary fingerprint set. Full methodology →
- Fingerprints
- Detection rules are proprietary. Scan results include a confidence score and a short text explanation — not the underlying fingerprint patterns.
- How it is funded
- Advertising and paid hosted plans cover proxy bandwidth, hosting, maintenance, and continued fingerprint updates. Neither influences detection results.
- Limits
- There is no warranty. Detections can be incomplete or incorrect, and a match never proves a sitewide install, an active contract, or exclusive use.
